I've noticed a number of my tech neophyte customers pronouncing it Jigabytes. I'd like a hard drive , the one on sale for 59.99 500 Jigabytes. I think it's just an Asian misprodunciation.

If Im not wrong (and I probably am) giga-byte at one time was actually pronounced as "jiga" byte a long time ago...Ive heard professionals use this term before.

That's how it's actually pronounced in Spanish, if that helps. That doesn't stop it from being hilarious, however.

I've heard the same. Just like .GIF files are supposed to be pronounced like the peanut butter. :confused:

Jigga, please. We all know that's the correct pronunciation. The Doc said so.
