I am near a MC! about 45 minutes away!

Then by all means do take advantage of their CPU and mobo combo deals. Unfortunately even with the discount a 4690k and a z97 board are going to run you around $250.-

An AMD 8350 with a ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS mATX motherboard will cost a little less than $150.-

After discount, the i5 4690K and ASRock H97M will run you $220, which actually shaves $15 off Ken's budget.

[thread=2345491]BF4 can't use every core[/thread] on an 8-core system effectively.

Going by the first graph in the link, the load distributionon FX-8350 isn't that bad IMO.

Now granted, one of the cores is more loaded than the others....but the 7th and 8th cores are being utilized.

Then looking at the third graph in the thread, the FX-8350 is getting substantially better frame rates than the FX-6300:

Now granted the FX-8350 has a higher clockspeed compared to FX 6300, but that is not enough to account for the ~50% higher FPS on the FX-8350.

I'm having trouble finding that graphics card. I was wondering if the graphics card below is compatible with the Intel set up I have chosen.

MSI GAMING N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Thanks.

Yes, it's compatible. Generally any modern GPU will go into any modern motherboard. The bigger concern is power when you start looking at more powerful cards.

That being said, I don't think that card is a particularly good value at $137 AR. You can get an R9 270X like this Gigabyte for the same price, but the 270X performs better.
