Nope

No she didn't.

Yup. I'm not going anywhere.

Enlightening.

This woman was attacked by someone with a knife. That's irrefutable. Now you might say (and I wouldn't be the least surprised if you did) that this was a joke or something like that. If that were the defense in a court of law I suggest that wouldn't prove effective.

Given: She complied with the law as it exists and not as you would like it to be-

Given: She was threatened with deadly force-

Given: That the gun offered her protection that the police could not simply because of the timeliness of the situation-

Can you make an argument in a court of law that she acted wrongly?

If the choice was between using the gun or dying which was the best action?

My grandfather bagged a few Germans in the Battle of the Bulge.

Should he be arrested?

War is completely different, I have never been in a war, it's not for me to judge them.

Murderers should be arrested. This woman is not one.

I disagree.

Obviously in that case the best option would be to kill, that doesn't mean she shouldn't be arrested. I have no idea what argument I could make in a court in America as I don't know anything about American law.

Morally do I think what she did was acceptable? No.
Legally was it? You'd have to check the law local to the area.

This is why I have a firearm under the lid of my toilet tank in a holster suspended above the water.

And who says .22 isn't a defense round!

While what a person does might be in accordance with the law, that should not imply that the law nor the actions are correct or infallible.

Depends on you. I might choose to die instead. If it is a matter of choice of who dies, you or another person, is it morally accurate to say there is a best action? I'd rather hesitate and consider this dilemma before letting self-defense immediately choose for me. I should also point out the only reason the only 2 choices is shoot or die is because of a variety of assumptions and choices made on the part of the grandma in this example, not the attacker.
