"The mail-in rebate is available on TiVo Series2 models purchased between September 12 and December 31, 2003. Rebate does not apply to DIRECTV receivers. To qualify for the rebate, customers must purchase a subscription to the TiVo service directly from TiVo Inc. The TiVo service starts at just $12.95 and a subscription for the lifetime of the product is only $299. In addition, customers must activate the service prior to January 31, 2004 to qualify for the rebate. Rebate not valid in combination with any other promotion or service options."

not sure how hot you'd make this but...at Dell Home they got %15 off Tivos and a $30 off $400+ orders.

i just got the Tivo 80hr model, linksys USB100M (need it for networking Tivo), the microsoft MN-110 (extra $20 to use $30 off coupon), and a cat 5 cable (to attach via USB network adapter to network) for $272 after rebate and coupons.

Another good option is amazon which has the tivo for $250 - $50 electronic discount - $50 coupon = $150.

IMHO the 80 hour version sold at amazon is an even better deal for many. costs only $50 more (usually $100) but doubles space. To achieve that I would otherwise have to purchase another drive, prep it, open the box and void the warranty. While 40 hours is kinda low, in particular if you record in higher qualities, the 80 hour version is sufficient for most.

What electronic discount are you talking about? Amazon has the 40hr for 199 with a $50 rebate, the same one thats offered from Tivo.com.
