JERUSALEM ? Israeli police evicted two Palestinian families in east Jerusalem on Sunday, then allowed Jewish settlers to move into their homes, drawing criticism from Palestinians, the United Nations and the State Department.

Police arrived before dawn and cordoned off part of the Arab neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah before forcibly removing more than 50 people, said Chris Gunness, spokesman for the U.N. agency in charge of Palestinian refugees.

U.N. staff later saw
vehicles bringing Jewish settlers to move into the homes, he said.

Israeli police cited a ruling by the country's Supreme Court that the houses belonged to Jews and that the Arab families had been living there illegally.

Gunness said the families had lived in the homes for more than 50 years.

how would you feel if someone came into your home and kicked you out after you've been there for 50 years?! this is terrible. italicized for irony :(

Never again..... unless you're Palestinian'''' I guess

We seriously need to cutoff any and all aid/influence to the Israeli's/Palestinian's...I'd go so far as to label both terrorist organizations so as to prevent private funding and arms going to them (at least as much as possible).

Those are two groups who actually think they are completely right in their beliefs, and F everyone else. There's no win-win or even win-lose there for US...just lose-lose...

Agreed. Let's cut off all funding to these places and use those tax dollars to rebuild our own infrastructure here in the USA( education, health care, roads, jobs, etc....).

Here's a crazy idea:

Instead of cutting off all aid and leaving it up to the violence to settle things, might is right, based on the way things happen to be after decades of population growth, and outside arming of different faction by group such as the US, and pretending that the reulting violence is the right way to resolve the situation - the US can back the UN in actually attempting some 'fair' addressing of the issues based on principle, not simply force.

The current history has been the policy being set by 'interests' - who cares about right and wrong, the policy is chosen by 'what helps the US/Iran/whoever', leaving a big mess.

But that'd be backing the UN, a completely partisan and ineffective group in its own self. This is a body that sat idly by will hundreds of thousands were literally butchered in Sudan and didn't do d1ck - they needed 14 helicopters when they finally went in...that was not possible, the world supply couldn't handle that demand - more delay, more butchering. But hey, there's no problem to deal with when everyone's dead, right? UN, F*ck Yeah!!!

Why don't we just not give either of those two parties aid - in any way - and just let them work it out themselves, without any outside influence? Can't we just do that rather than interfere in their politics/grudges?

I honestly can't wait until one side decides to nuke the other, and the other country fights fire with fire and they completely blow each other off the map.

Such a small area of the world and they are the focus of 99% of the planet. Screw them both.

no I think getting anti israel articles and then blabbing how its completely Israels fault and how you only put in the info that made israel look bad instead of the whole article which explains why they were evicted brings the worst out of people.

im sick and tired of bull shit people post here because they try and find one fault with israel and extort it like its fucking turning plastic into solid gold.

No country in this world is perfect. If you want to bitch about a country that was built on its own homeland who happens to kick out the settlers who went on their land hundreds of years ago, go talka bout it somewhere else. Be sure to mention the trillions of dollars the arab neighboring countries have even though they cant help 1 million of their "brethren"

First, my city took away all guns from the police, and barred them from using any force.

Then, we passed a resolution saying they are ineffective, so they don't deserve guns.

As to your post - there's already a massive fricken arsenal in the Middle East courtesy of us that's a dominating fact in the situation. It's too late for washing our hands.
