The deal is a little misleading. It's supposed to be up to 50% off on flights.

Baltimore to San Jose shows up as >$400. If this reflects a discounted fare, I'd hate to imagine what the original fare was. :disgust:

Atlanta-based Delta said it would cap one-way domestic economy fares at $499 and one-way first-class fares at $599.

doesn't help me much, need round trip memphis to houston in mid-feb... oh well.

I searched a couple fares. Still didn't see any reason to use Delta over a company that actually has cheap fares.

Even their up to 50% off, I think the low price airline still has better price.

The price offered for a round trip to PR is about $204. Exactly the same as expedia. I could probably get it cheaper if I book even further in advance along with other options. Not a bad price.

Does Expedia have any sort of price match policy if I bought Delta tickets through Expedia and they are now a lot cheaper?

I dont think i've ever seen any airline/travel site pricematch anything... Considering the volitility of the prices as they are....

The story about it clearly said that the people who may get 50% off are business
travellers who book at the last minute. Instead of paying $1000, they may get
it for $500. It is not a 50% off sale. The title of this thread is very misleading.
Not a hot deal for most savvy airfare shoppers.

This is hot for business travelers. One way first-class fares cap at $599 and no Saturday stay requirements. That's HOT! This is going to save businesses tons of money.

It's not hot for leisure travelers who pay $199 or less for roundfare tickets weeks/months in advance.

Atlanta-based AirTran is the primary competitor for Delta at the Atlanta hub and is STILL cheaper than Delta on most/all flights. Plus, AirTran has XM satellite radio.

Use AirTran instead!!!

ORD-CDG on AA is $385 low season - non-stop
Before you can even type www.delta.com other airlines have already matched their fares. There are other airlines in better financial shape.

I flew to paris over thanksgiving on United for $283. Check united E-Fares website. Delta is still over priced.

I think they figured since they are going down, they might as well take everyone else with them at the same time.
