Get the Logitech G27 racing wheel (it says out of stock when you add it to the cart, but when I did it mine shipped the next day). For $150+tax its a steal (if nothing else, you can make a nice $75+ profit reselling it). It's tons of fun and really well built.

Did you go off a how-to or have schematics for it? Looks pretty awesome.

There's a basic blueprint floating around (Google PVC racing blueprint). Someone made a CAD drawing of the basic pipe sizes, then you can make mods as needed. Get a bucket seat from a compact car at the junkyard for $15 or so, and you're in business. Parts, cement, and paint cost around $50 and it took a weekend to put it together.
