I never got this age hysteria, i haven't had any crisis this far and i doubt i ever will, every age has it's charm.

35 years old and wouldn't want to be any other age.

Does that mean you'll be dieing soon? 😉

Unfortunantly, yes. 🙁

Not sure what the point of this thread is, but here goes:

Personally, I think the culture of youth worship in our society is pathetic. Older people have much to contribute. Youth and youthful beauty are vastly overrated... especially considering their transient nature. Wisdom and grace are far more valuable, IMHO.

I'm not old yet (36) but I embrace aging rather than reject it. There is a lot of freedom to be had when you let go of things you can't hold on to in the first place.

Exactly! Why the need for the marketing hype of 50=30. Being 50, or 80 is awesome, in and of itself. Why is it that MSN and the Today Show have to imply that being a older age is a somehow "less than" position.

50 is 50!

I have honestly never cared, i age, just like everyone else, it is a fact of life, why spend time trying to deal with something you cannot change?

Besides, men only get sexier with age. 😉

I'm 50 and I'm cool with it. I'm in good shape, work out religiously and watch what I eat but I can definately tell that I am getting older. I don't have the energy that I had at 30 nor the recuperative powers and the grey hair is coming in fast (it's better than losing my hair though). As long as I can stay in shape, be active, get it up and not lose control of my bowels I'm ok with aging🙂

Some men get sexier with ageText

Make sure you are one of them!

Turn 29 on Monday

My hairline is WAY different than it used to be... but it's currenlty only receding at the temples... ah well such is life.

Zen death poem of the monk Sunao:

Spitting blood

clears up reality

and dream alike.

Eh... I'm 28, and I don't looke a day older than 21 (bless my asian genes), and I certainly don't feel like 28, and don't act a day older than 18. So I guess I'll let you know when I get to 50.

at age 49 i'm not feeling particularly old (see sig),
but "i'm too old" is a great excuse to have available.

Waht a load of BS

You are as old as you feel . . . i'm over 50 and (still) partying with the 20- and thirty-something crowd . . . generally i am more fit and have much more stamina than the average 30 year old. 😛

How well you take care of yourself - eating AND exercise - determines (along with some genetics) how you "age".

This is the really the best time (so far) in my life.

What is so bad about getting older? It certainly beats the alternative...

edit: lyrics of "Young at Heart" as sung by Frank Sinatra --

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you?re young at heart
For it?s hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you?re young at heart

You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on it?s way

Don?t you know that it?s worth every treasure on earth
To be young at heart
For as rich as you are it?s much better by far
To be young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you?ll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you?ll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

That's just something old people say.

getting older preceeds the 'alternative'.
Ideally, but not necessarily. We all have a choice: grow old... or die young.

IF you grow older . . . .

and i am not really sure about really having a 'choice' . . . 😉

Exactly! Why the need for the marketing hype of 50=30. Being 50, or 80 is awesome, in and of itself. Why is it that MSN and the Today Show have to imply that being a older age is a somehow "less than" position.

Yay! It's good to know that not everyone has been sucked in by the marketing machine. 🙂 I have had the pleasure of knowing many people who aged gracefully and I fully intend to do the same. Every now and then I think maybe I'll want a tuck here and a nip there in the future, but then I remind myself that I'd probably be one to die getting purely elective surgery for reasons of vanity. I'll spend the money on travels to Europe instead.

...and don't forget the ever-popular "If I knew I was going to last this long, I would've taken better care of myself ..."

What does "age gracefully" mean?

and what is the difference? 😛

Being that I am about to exit my thirtysomething, I have decided my new method of aging is in adult years. So while I tell everyone I am 21, I am often told I would still be thirtysomethnig because I don't act my age.
