Face it people - you are getting old. 50 is 50, no matter the marketing hype to the contrary.

Personally, I think the culture of youth worship in our society is pathetic. Older people have much to contribute. Youth and youthful beauty are vastly overrated... especially considering their transient nature. Wisdom and grace are far more valuable, IMHO.
I'm not old yet (36) but I embrace aging rather than reject it. There is a lot of freedom to be had when you let go of things you can't hold on to in the first place.
You can be young and wise, and old and wise, but you can't be old and young.Originally posted by: Isla

HEY! I object!
It wasn't the ~ fifty crowd that attempted (and failed) to resurrect things like Woodstock, Starsky & Hutch, The Beverly Hillbillies (the list is long and very sad), and had to resort to making movies out of comic books so the new movie crowd could understand the charactors and plot.
It's not denial, it's "Now I make enough money to get all the cool toys and have some fun!"
We got to watch the technology boom, the space race and moon landing, the birth and growth of rock & roll, the communications revolution, and most of the significant history being made from the last century.
We got to buy gas for $0.29 a gallon (or less ... neener neener).
We got to have sex without wearing a wetsuit and the worst you could get (aside from pregnant) could be cured with a shot of penacillin.
It's not denial, y'all are just jealous. You have to work so hard to have the same level of fun. The old folks can afford the hot cars, the better audio / video, hotter computers, better bandwidth .... and to top it off, more-often-than-not, we're your management and can get you to do all the scud work.
Life is good at ~50; eat your heart out young'un ....
FWIW (mostly kidding)

If 50 is the new 30, what does that make 30? 30 is the new 10?
Hmmm.
