Nice deal at CompUSA. Buy the Sound Blaster X-gamer 5.1 ($99.99)AND The Cambridge Sound Works Desktop Theather 5.1 Speakers (Model DTT2200 Black $129.98) for $229.98 - $50 Instant Rebate= $179.98 + tax. Cool price for the best Audio rig in gaming today. SoundCard/Speakers/+3 Enhanced Games
Sales clerk tried to tell me after ringing it up at $229.98 that the Instant Rebate was included in the price.:Q Don't believe them, I asked her how much they cost separately... Same Price!! So I asked Where's my $50 rebate then?? She Called the Manager and he had to do a "Manual Over-Ride" on the register. I got my rebate.:D
This Deal was in my Sunday Flyer for CompUSA in Charlotte, NC

AD price was $99.99 + $129.99= $229.98
Minus $50 Instant Rebate
Final Cost for both = $179.98 plus tax

Seems Like a good deal to me.:)

Does the XGamer 5.1 come with the live drive? Or is that only with the platinum version?

The price comes out about the same if you order the two from Buy.com with free shipping. Apply a coupon and even a better deal.

Last Sunday I talked with the Creative Rep in CompUSA (went there to get my $150 IR on the Iomega 12/10/32 I bought the day before) and he strongly suggested the DTT2200 speakers with any of the 5.1 cards. These speakers come with 5 satalites and a sub. He said the DTT3500s were overkill since you don't need the dolby decoder box.

Even AT $129 you won't find a better deal on a true 5.1 speaker rig. You can get the speakers for $109 at Onvia, or $110 at Buy.com.

But the DTT 2200 are not digital there analog as the DTT 2500 or 3500 are full digital 5.1.

Even though the DTT2200 have analog hookups they are still the best choice for value. The Creative Rep I spoke with said you can't really hear the difference between analog and digital anyway. He suggested the DTT2200's over the DTT2500's and the DTT3500's even though I told him price was not my main concern. Why would he try to sell me the less expensive ones when I was willing to buy the most expensive ones?
