you guys may have seen the postcard offer from http://www.GetOutdoors.com but this new offer they have is way better.

Its a deal where the first registered user who finds the photo on their site with the GetOutdoors logo on top will get $50 at fogdog.com. Email them at info@getoutdoors.com with your username and the destination page where the photo is located.

My friend works there so he says I'm not eligible... so I just thought I would let you all know.
 
Junior member posting this up...hmmm...seems suspect to me. Also, I don't see any mention of this on their website. I reserve the right to wrong.
 
Sorry, I'm not a senior member who posts all the time. If you were a registered user at their site, like I am, you would have read about this little promotion in their newsletter that went out today. (So all of you who registered for the postcards earlier and have looked at the newsletter know that this is legit.)

If you dont want a chance at the $50, its better odds for everybody else.
 
It's only for one registered user...The deal is probably already dead...That's what makes you a junior member...Nice try anyway.
 
The only thing that makes him a Junior Member is the number of posts he's put up. That's also the only qualification that makes you a senior member, too. There's no quality of post qualification.

But, recently, it seems as though a major prerequisite for being a senior member is a snobbish, attacking personality, as evidenced by your reply.

The guy posted a possible deal. Cut him some slack. He tried. If it's not the deal for you, then just ignore it.

Jeez.
 
I just called my friend who works at GetOutdoors. He is still at work because this contest is his project. He said nobody has emailed them with the right answer yet. Just because somebody doesn't post a lotdoes not mean they lack common sense. This freebie culture isn't rocket science.

I was just trying to post on a contest I heard about so somebody could get $50... and I get condescending replies. Get off your high freebie horse and relax.

Hmmm, NO mention of the $50 for fogdog.com on the site anywhere, and it has nothing to it...just a few pages with advertising and a couple articles...

I think somebody is trying to get hits for their site....that'd be MY guess. Pretty cheap way to do it.
 
hey fools, the contest was mentioned in the newsletter, which you get by registering. i registered, no big deal. their site seems pretty kewl if you're an outdoors person, but i'm a geek. really easy to use. and, dgoedken, jackass, do you really think that fogdog or getoutdoors would make such a huge deal over a $50 gift certificate? of course it's not listed on their sites. i e-mailed them, the contest is still on, no one has the right photo yet. good luck losers.

I got word over at GetOutdoors that there was some talk about our contest over here. Brown Sugah, I am in charge of this promotion, and you have not won. Nobody has yet. You do seem to have a very active imagination though. Anyway, the contest is still on and good luck to any of you want to participate. By the way, the winning photo is our logo superimposed on a color photograph -so you can see the logo and the picture. There has been some confusion about that.
 
Argh, my bad. It was a picture of their GO logo where a destination place was supposed to be, but I guess its a different one they're looking for.

this looks like a scam to get more hits for the site. what the hell kind of company is going to run a promo for $50 where only one person is going to win it? Usually when promo's just have one winner, the prize is for way more than $50.
 
how can you tell what their ip's are? you have some special access? jw...

I know when my site happened to get mentioned in the Hot Deals forum as an actual unsolicited (real) hot deal, we got around 250 visits from the link over 3 days. Not bad, from one link on one website.

It's pretty obvious that this is spam. They are clearly just trolling for hits with a bunch of aliases and I'm sure they have increased their traffic quite a bit. I wouldn't be suprised if all of those identities that hkchan mentioned are one person.

Like always, just ignore it and let it drop off the first page. But I'm afraid this is not the last we'll see of this.
