I disagree; that was McCain's strategy from the beginning.

In all fairness, things like drug use, religious affiliation, and foreign affiliations have been used to criticise past political candidates. Perhaps it's because of the fact that he didn't seem to keep things secret that it truly wasn't a big deal.

I personally don't care how he lives his personal life as long as it doesn't effect the job. We all have skeletons in our closet, I'd rather not hear his or anyone elses.
