Phillips is opening Beta testing again... this time for their Wireless Hi-Fi internet Audio system

Haha, I smiled at that one, too. And at the question about how many downloaded music tracks.
I also liked the "How many hours per week do you: Play PC games online" Counter-Strike alone set me over the top on that one!

Well, thanks for the heads-up ballnchainart! I hope I get picked. Does anyone know if we do get picked do we get to keep the device or do we have to send it back after the test?

Yeah got it in my email too although I haven't had much luck in the past. Have signed up for 3 or 4 beta tests & not been selected Maybe this time I will be selected.

They don't pick these in numerical order, but by your demographic information and the anwers to their questions. I am sure that they haven't picked any beta testers yet even though they have probably had a ton of respondents..

For the last beta (the nike one), i signed up when there was 2 weeks left (out of 8 weeks total). I didn't receive an email on the confirmation deadline (if selected, they email you asking for your address and stuff and you have to reply by XX-XX-02), but instead 1 whole month after the confirmation deadline i received a confirmation email.

Then 6 weeks later i received my 8cm nike mp3 cd player (which isn't that great either).

They pick it based on your demographic.

Do you mind if I ask you where you live? I'm from Houston and never seem to get picked for these kinds of things. Granted it's a huge city ecc, but it would be nice just once to be the one...

Truthful answer: less than 50.

They didn't ask "how many downloaded music files from the Internet do you have on the family's hard drive" or "somewhere in your computer".....
multiple hard drives..... anything on mine is strictly hands off for the family. The MP3's are on one of the other hard drives.

"how many downloaded movies..." Less than 5. Played it safe (and completely true in the case of movies... not to mention that I also own a copy of each of the downloaded movies)

But, wouldn't people with downloaded movies and songs be the target market for this kind of device? (Especially since it didn't ask how many of my own CD's I've ripped to my hard drive.. I've got enough CD's floating around here that I don't need a few hundred more in my way) With DVD players as cheap as they are, it's pretty easy to have one in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc attached to each tv.
