$50,000 or a deed to $50,000 worth of land?

Which would you rather have? Keep in mind that you'll have to pay taxes on either, but $50,000 land would actually be 'worth' more because you wouldn't have to pay realtor fees, surveying costs, etc. prior to receiving the deed...

I guess it depends on what I could do with the land, how much of it there was, and whether or not I could make a better investment with the $50k.

You'll gain more equity with the land, so I'd take the land. Plus you can pimp out the property 🙂

nik

not if the land is in montana....where you can't get too except by walking or skydiving....

then again... is that $50,000 dollars or yen?

Depends where the land is.. I wouldnt want to be the proud new owner of a landfill 🙂

I shure as heck would like a new landfill (as long as it's actualy new and not already full). Landfills make a TON of money. Also, I've seen a couple landfills that made really nice golf cources once they were sealed off.

Cash, I couldn't buy jack sh!t for land with $50k, but a $50k down payment is another story.

You live in one of the most expensive land areas in the world. 50k wouldn't get you a grain of sand at a Cali beach.

Get an estimate on the true value of the land first.....

You could buy land in another spot that has a better chance of appreciating as well. Besides with land you are not liquid.
