I agree with some of those points actually. I reckon they could add another point though - you know you are getting too old when you get annoyed with excessive swearing in a computer game article.

The title should read:
5 ways to tell if your are getting to old to console games...I'll never get to old for ARMA or EvE...but I am WAY to old for he crappy consolized games (eg. CoD/BF)

There's not a single PC thread where somebody brings up consoles just to beat on them... even when they have no reason to be brought up.

Posts like this are ruining these forums for people who just want to talk about games without bickering like children.

Been gaming a long time. Maybe one game out of five hundred really captures me-but it's been that way since I had a Mattel Intelivision. Matter of fact, old fashioned board games were the same. Not every game is a Monopoly or War or chess.

However, certain genres (cough, fps) I've grown out of-a long time ago (Doom).

Multiplayer is the best, but with the right people. Pubbie games generally have all the wrong people.

I am probably too old, since I now have chronic tendonitis in my wrist from contorting my pinky to hit control/alt/shift while keeping my other fingers on the WASD keys while playing games.

I know it utterly proves the above point, but you really should try TOR.

You are right, it does prove my point. I tried not to get into my favorite rant:

"Curse you EA, Lucas Arts, and Bioware for turning KOTOR into an MMO".

But here you have it. KOTOR was my favorite RPG, and I really wanted a third game to finish up the story line after the rushed ending of the second game.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway. I have been following TOR and I know it is supposed to be single player friendly, but I just dont see how an MMO can have the single player experience of a true single player RPG. I have never played an MMO, but I might try TOR if there is a free trial like WOW. Unfortunately it can never finish up the storyline of KOTOR since it is set in a different time period.

But back to the original thread of "too old to game". I will make some serious comments here despite that this thread is sort of satirical.
I am probably older than nearly everyone on this thread, but still enjoy gaming. I had a person I used to work with that thought it incredible that I played games because I was too old. I just dont think anyone has the right to judge how I spend my free time, whether I am past a certain age or not. I may not have the reflexes that I once had, but I still enjoy games. This will probably annoy most on this forum, but I also dont see what is wrong with playing on a console or even playing facebook games if that is what a person enjoys. I mean, if you play a game on the PC, are you making any great contribution to society that would not be made if you played on the console??

So I guess my point is if you enjoy gaming whatever your age or sex or type of game or platform, go for it. If it is no longer fun anymore, read a book, play a sport, watch a movie, or whatever.
