Hi I've got a question about a problem I've been having on with scanner's twain program on my windows 2000 desktop.
I run my Fujitsu M4097D scanner all day on my computer at work. Normally I can read other files & check out web browsers while my scanner is cycling pages... But now, ever since I downloaded Limewire basic v. 2.9.8 & the Java runtime v. 1.3.1 that came with it, i've been having this annoying problem. My Scanner won't run in the background. Everytime a peice of paper cycles through the scanner, the twain driver page comes back to the top of my desktop.. This is incredibly annoying, because it messes up my whole routine that i've been doing for months.
Limewire or Java probably changed some setting without telling me... so I uninstalled them both.
I've tried messing with the folder options, also desktop & display options... I ran two different kinds of virus scan... I uninstalled and re-installed the Twain driver with the latest version... Non of this has worked though. This is really frustrating me! My productivity slipping... & my boss is trippin'~
any ideas on what the problem could be?
If you know what the problem is & you tell me how to solve it,.... and you have a paypal account.
I will send you $5
.Thanks.

Maybe don't install programs unrelated to your work? Does your boss know what you think has caused this?

haha,.. Yeah hindsight is 20/20... but really.
She was the one who told me to slow down with the scanning or i'd be out of work..
I was just trying to entertain myself.

If you think it's Java related, go to the Control Panel and open up the Internet Options applet. Click on the advanced tab and deselect anything that has to do with Java that isn't Microsoft. We had a problem where I work (not twain related) that deselecting the Sun Java option cured.

IMHO it's not Java related.

A: Some versions of LimeWire come with bundled software. We do not consider this software to be "spyware" because it does not report any personal information. Users are not required to install this software but it helps defer costs. You can purchase LimeWire PRO, an ad-free version of our software which also comes with e-mail support.
So, did everything get uninstalled? Some of these things have a tendency to remain after the main proggy is uninstalled.
Get SpyBot and see.
