5 Stalls

Which do you think are the most heavily and least trafficked according to my observations (no I don't stand around all day waiting).

The stall closest to the door has urinals next to it. The farthest one is a large handicapped stall with raised toilet.

It's in a professional office building with moderate traffic.

It depends quite a bit what type of setting this is in (office, stadium...) I'd say #1 is most trafficked and #4 is least. People love that #5, but not more than the convenience of #1.

I think there's some reverse psychology involved. Most people probably think the first one is most used and avoid it. So in truth it might be one of the least used stalls.

i think question #2 should be pretty obvious for most people. the closer to the door you are, the more distraction you get from people coming in and leaving.

i would least likely use the one closest to the door, most likely use the 4th one. the handicapped ones make me feel odd, for some reason.

#1 is the least used
#5 is the most used.

However, the logistics vary greatly depending on the occupation status of each one. If someone is in #5, the second person to come in will most likely go to #1, which gives the two the biggest buffer zone possible in such a configuration. Forget diseases, this kind of thing needs the research money.

Most people go either in the middle or all the way at teh end... therefore the first one is usually the least filthy. That is usually the one I take.

From my real world observations, you are definitely on the right track.

I read that somewhere one time, that the stall nearest the door was typically the least frequently used and therefore was usually cleanest and most likely to have paper in .. they attributed it to a perception of privacy further from the door (this was a ladies room observation though.. being of the female flavor myself, I remembered it!). so.. I most frequently use the one closest to the door, myself. unless it's nasty.

I generally peruse each open stall and choose the one with the least amount of residual crap stains in the bowl. I figure this is an indicator of how long it's been since someone left something particularly nasty behind.

i find that the stalls at the end are usually larger to accomodate handicap people and are the most dirty. i would go with 2 or 4...

Well, from my observations in our office bathroom, it seems the middle one is the most used and the first one the least. The first one is actually pretty filthy because people use it as a urinal when the urinals are occupied.

The second most used is the fourth. The fifth one seems to be tied with the second one.
