it doesn't help that the images are two different sizes...i'm giving it a try, and will make the final image equal to the smaller of the two (16x12)

edit:: arghh harder than i thought! props to those who did it! the more you try it the more little things you have to try to fix...

after someone wins, it'd be nice if they shared their process with the rest of us.
