Dude seriously just stop. Yet another thread derailment by you. Also as usual, your "facts" are wrong.

He/She/It will never stop because it is He/She/It's life. Sad and pathetic as it may be.

He/She/It provides mild entertainment to me as I can see He/She/It in the basement, face full of zits screaming at mom to not come into the cave. He/She/It is my daily dose of douche that I let my son read so he never becomes like He/She/It.

None as good as the $80 one (Navigon MobileNavigator), because you buy it once and that's that (also good on an iPad if you want to really "navigate").

Oh, and it also doesn't require a constant data connection like Google Navigation. Lose your data coverage, you have no GPS.

Yup yet again you've shown that you spout nonsense and don't know what you're talking about.

That would be a lot more useful on my iPad if the damn thing would sync with my bluetooth GPS like my Android device can.

Actually I prefer the TomTom app (despite them being bastards), because I will never need an iPad version for that very reason.

Um, there are a couple Android programs that do that too. I use Co-Pilot ($5) all the time.

You would use your brain, which theoretically is faster at routing and getting somewhere without needing to pay attention to a voice.

Key word, theoretically, in your case.

You could also pay $80 for a far superior REAL GPS application on an iPHone. One that gives you options for routing, avoidance, histories etc.

How are you not permanently banned by now. You continue to insult people directly who disagree with you. How many warnings have you been given?

The free gps does plenty for the majority of users. If we want to blow money on "real" gps software we have that choice too.

Read the site and those are some legitimate reasons, but its not enough for me to migrate over to Android. I prefer the hardware of Android devices, but I prefer iOS much more over Android OS.

Those are all great reasons actually without actually being offensive.

Yeah, pretty solid article. The only one I would really question is the widgets as I don't find them that useful compared to the clutter and resource utilization that they add, but it is a differentiating factor between Android and iOS.

Hasn't Google Nav had the route caching feature for a few versions now? It keeps you going even when you lose your data connection.

It seems that you are using the earliest iterations of Google Nav to make your arguments.

Hmm I think out of that list, the only one I actually care about is the lack of setting a default app. I use Atomic Web Browser for browsing, but a link that I open from a text message or something similar will always open in Safari.

EDIT:

But overall, it's not a huge deal that would make me leave iOS. Mostly because I'm pretty sure I can just copy the hyperlink and paste it into AWB. If I couldn't do that, that would really be uncool :\.

Yea, the guy has no idea what he's talking about. I had to travel for work through the mountains of West Virginia over a year ago, as long as I got my route set while I still had a data connection I was fine. I made it for 4 or 5 hours without a data connection and Google Nav worked fine. I made this trip twice a week (one way on Monday, back home on Friday) for 4 months, Google Nav worked every time.

The only thing that Android has on iOS now is Widgets and GPS navigation.

Other than that I would personally take iPhone over any Android phone.

Navigon North America was 59.99$ last time I checked, and it's often on sale for half price. I paid 29$ for it a few months ago.

GPS on my EVO sucks sacks, if my phone's 100% charged when I get into my car, and I hook it directly to my car charger the GPS will kill the battery faster than the charger can charge it. So if I needed the GPS to be constantly on for a long trip I'd be SOL. I dunno if the iPhone has this problem too, but I know my clunky ass Magellan doesn't

therefore stand alone GPS >>> phone GPS

That sounds like more the screen is at too high a brightness. When I had my Incredible, putting the brightness at max the charger couldn't keep up, setting it to medium it would stay at 100% charge with screen on and google nav.

Google nav has always worked great for me. Love that time this semi driver walked up to me with his iphone in hand and asked me if I knew where ____ was, showing me an email with an address. Typed it into my phone, and showed him where to go.

I drive multiple company and personal vehicles, a stand alone gps would suck ass. My phone is always on me and has never let me down. Lots of times I don't even know the place I'm going, use google to find it, hold down the address and bring up google nav, usually brings up the phone number too to make sure they're still open. Good to go.

It's just that the Evo really does have crappy battery life so that's why it can't keep up.

Even rooted? That sucks if so. Know it's pretty bad, co-worker has one and wants me to root it. He never turns 4G on cause apparently it won't even last a day on standby.

The hell? I often have my evo at full brightness while using nav in background and reading in the kindle app/listening to mp3/watching tv in rockplayer, and a car charger keeps it topped off. Something must be wrong with yours.

There was an issue with car and usb chargers charging under heavy use IIRC. This was about 1 year ago when I had my Incredible.

that's what "choice" and "openness" can lead to. Honestly I wish Google had at least laid some basic minimums for Android devices, like the @#$%^&* battery should NEVER be able to go dead if it's hooked to a charger, regardless what you're doing. The work around would be me turning the brightness down to a level where I can't really even see the screen, oh joy.

yeah, the issue's it doesn't charge fast enough, the hilariously odd thing is not all EVO's are guilty of this, so that means HTC has really shotty quality control. I have chatted with some who have the same problem, and others who don't have a problem here.
