in a rush, so I'll make this quick. Sorry no links.

Buy.com sells it for $54, Staples sells it for $80

pricematch at staples, use $20 off coupon, add tax

Use rebate posted earlier to get an additional $10 off.
search for linksys switch at both buy.com and staples, should be able to find it easily.

Can someone explain the proceedures in "pricematching" ?
Are you doing this online or at the stores?
If online, how are you doing it?
Thanks

It appears easier to pricematch once you ordered it. So what I did was, I ordered it. Called up staples, said I found it cheaper at buy.com, they checked it out (I gave them the buy.com info) and agreed, and they matched the price. Usually they'd take into account shipping as well, but I had 2 things working for me, 1) it was free shipping at buy.com and 2) it was out of stock at my local staples, so it has to be shipped by UPS anyways.

Hi I read your post on Hot Deals about the Linksys 10/100 hub. Can you please tell me where I can find the $20 off coupon?

Thanks Nairi

I think lynksys also has a $15.00 re-fund coupon on some of their products as well.

Could someone explain the difference between a Hub, a Switch and a Router?

Hub --> Broadcasts data to every port
Switch --> sends data to specified port only (no collisions)
Router --> Assigns IPs

Down a dirty analysis

Some things to keep in mind: Staples will generally only price match if they have the item in stock. Whoever got them to PM an out-of-stock item got lucky.

When price matching online stores, 99% of the time they take into account next-day shipping. Even when we were pricematching things at Egghead awhile back, which, like Buy.com is doing now temporarily, had free ground shipping on everything, Staples insisted on finding out the price with FedEx added on.

All this is to say: Certainly no harm in trying, but don't be surprised if you can't price match. And if you can, they're likely to add in next-day shipping charges.

If you can't pricematch the first time, just try again 5 minutes later. It took 3 calls before I was able to get a CSR who wouldn't tack on overnight shipping. Persistence is the key to the Staples hot deal.
