I still have my $99 GF4 4200 from 3 years ago. sadly, it no longer cuts it for any 2005 games.

Since I wasnt in the video game market in 2004, i dont remember what video card was last year's $99 Black Friday special.

What do you think will be this year's special?

6600LE, or x600se

I rember last black friday I went to walmart at 5 AM (it was FREEZING!!!). there had to be at least 1000 people in line waiting to get in (some people had sleeping bags out on the parking lot), and before I got into the store (because of the slow line) somebody was walking out with 6, that's right I said 6 27" tv's. You could barly move it was so crowded in there!!!

Maybe so. Last year I believe there was a 6800(nu) at Best Buy (or CompUSA, I forget) for $199...maybe we might even see a 6800GT for $199 this year? Wishful thinking, perhaps. :p

The day after Thanksgiving. It gets it's name from retailers being "in the red" all year up until this point, at which time they make so many sales, they start making a profit. Losses are written in red ink, profits written in black. Hence the name, Black Friday. :)

*EDIT* Oh, and my prediction for the "$99 special" will be either the 6600GT or 6800 on the nVidia side. I don't know about ATI... I haven't kept up with their low and mid end cards.

The problem with this card is, by time the upcoming "Black Friday"rolls around, the supply of these on the shelves will be nil.
I'm quite sure these cards are no longer manufactured
