I didn't buy it to use as a phone, just a music player for my iphone loving android hating Mercedes. The phone charges and works apparently fine, but its never been reset, unlocked, or I assume jailbroke. Slide to unlock brings up the touchpad for a 4 digit code, which isn't any obvious pattern I've tried. Scroll up brings up the media player but I don't see any files.

I've ordered a bunch of different types of cables, charge sync usb, MMI connection the MB, so if this i4 verizon no sim slot won't work, I'm semi game to hunt down a different one, but I have never used an iphone and have no clue on the basics, like do I need to set up an itunes acct just to play my own music or maybe to reset the phone?

Itunes did the reset fairly easily, but turns out its iCloud locked, so its parts unless I want to swap out the motherboard with a clean one.

If the person who sold you the phone was also the owner, they could theoretically bail you out, but otherwise you're stuck.

ive seen people defeat icloud locks on ebay(oops i mean youtube) by making their own icloud server to unlock it from. i bet it would work with a super old iphone 4 on a old ios.
