5 Centimeters Per Second

I know this board more or less hates Anime, but this was a masterpiece. I genuinely felt sad at the last episode. Its only 3 episodes long and the art is gorgeous.

It does have a couple of those " Why the hell would you do that?" moments, but I think they were put in to express how..delusional he was.

I seriously recommend this to anyone who likes a good realistic romance.

Well, first off, I <3 anime so I guess I'm in the minority on here. Anyways, I've heard of it but never checked it out. I'll be sure to get around to watching it as I've heard good things about it

Actually, their top speed on flat terrain is in fact 5cm/sec. That's for "blind drives" though, when controllers on Earth tell the rover to drive a certain distance. The rover just assumes that the path is clear, and drives at full speed.

But when the rover is driving on its own, it stops, images the surrounding terrain, analyzes it to choose a path, then drives up to 2 meters, and stops again to reassess the terrain.

Of course, they may be more capable now than that. The documentation concerning their design speeds was written over a year ago, and since then, the rovers have received several updates to significantly improve their autonomous driving capabilities.

Well, in this Anime, 5 Centimeters Per Second is apparently the speed at which a cherry blossom falls. There are a LOT of Cherry Blossom falling scenes in this Anime. As well as Snow.
