Not sure why, but adding up the paypal + amazon gift cards and the feller who rolled over cash from last lotto, and the few pending transactions we're about $150~ or so short from what people have entered on the sheet.

I imagine some people may have entered information, but will paypal/GC a little later, if so that is OK, but you must do it before the deadline.

So again, if we win I will be emailing everyones paypal, or amazon GC email addresses, as that is the way I know someone paid to get in and will be the only way I have to verify shares/people.

You can simply match up email addresses from PP to the email addresses entered on the spreadsheet, right? Then you can see the discrepancies; people who entered their info onto the Google Doc but haven't actually contributed money are disqualified :colbert:

Well I just got confirmation of my payment to you from PP that I sent days ago, so I'm thinking some of them are being held up...

When I log into my PP account and look at my transaction history, it says my payment to Vivi is "Completed" so I assume that means it's good.

I got a confirmation email that I sent payment (Subject title, "You sent a payment") with all the transaction details, immediately after I hit "send". No confirmation of it actually going through though. :hmm: I don't know if that's the same thing.

I see. Good to know. My payment went through instantly because I used a credit card, whereas transferring from a regular bank account probably takes longer.

Well ain't that a....meant to use my credit card too but for some reason it defaulted to my bank account, that's probably why it took so long

So you are saying my paypal transfer may be pending somewhere even though it was an "instant transfer" from a confirmed checking account? And yet I have done probably a hundred of transactions using this method and all with immediate results. Did paypal suddenly start holding funds?

Even if we get to 200 shares we're looking at 1 in 175,223 odds of the jackpot

and 1 in 5,154 for the $1 Million

Fuck you math.

$1 million / 120 shares x 66% after tax = $5,500 per share

Totally worth it. :)

Vivi I'd jump off a bridge if we won and I didn't ask....my payment went through, right? I was the one with the comment about an alternate email address if needed :p

Don't you want to buy them all at once, to eliminate the chance of getting the same numbers the next time you buy. I know it's a small chance, but it's the same odds as winning

The tax works like this, for the most part. If vivi buys in Minnesota then we are taxed at 7.25% your home state will give you credit for that. I live in Utah which has a flat tax of 5% so I wouldn't pay any additional state tax. If you live somewhere with a higher tax rate then you would probably just need to pay the difference. Over all it would be better to buy the tix from a state with no income taxes so each individual could maximize their winnings. Usamega.com is a good site for information

Wait...so some of us would be better off if we bought the tickets in a state without income tax? I'll have to pay Minnesota state tax on the winnings even though Texas doesn't have any income tax?:colbert:
