hey ,that LCD looks like what my friend installed in his COROLLA, along with a in-dash vcd/cd player. I think it costed him around $300 for the whole set-up. Anyways, back on what I wanna say. The coloring of the LCD sucks, and the picture quality's not good either. If you're looking for small LCD, you can find better for around the same price.

I ordered the other day and I recieved my tracking number today. However, the number doesn't seem to work on the usps and canadian postal website (they said it to go to either). They also said that it may not be available for tracking until tomorrow, so maybe thats the case.

Im starting to regret ordering it. At first it seemed like a killer deal, but people are saying the LCD is crappy. Hopefully it will turn out to be pretty cool.

Reading thru the thread, i was just wondering if anyone has tried
using an old laptop (a 486?) as a dvd/vcd/mp3 player in a vehicle.

The 486's can be had for as little as $20, fixup a DVD drive and use
a basic os (win95 / win98 / linux ?) possible ? just curious ?

486 and DVD? Nope, forget it. :)

A 486 would play mp3's but it may skip alot. I have a P133 with 64mb RAM Laptop in my car and it plays fine but sounds terrible. I installed a plug-in for the sound and it now sounds much better but it does skip! Bleah!

Oh, if anyone knows anythign about rigging up an LCD screen to use on a computer, let me know. I've got a bunch of screens and inverters but no interface. People selling interfaces over the net have prices around $100-200, which is way TOO much!

I've got a few different brands at different sizes. Sharp 8.4 TFT, Torisan/Sanyo 9.4, and 6.4 screens. All brand new in boxes.

It would be great if someone can find a source or a way to have say, 9 of these screens hooked up to make a large display, or even 12 of these screens to make an even larger one!

Anyone with info that leads to a purchase of such a system at a good price (I'm broke), I will ship you a few free screens..!

I just got my av baby and screen in. Im kinda disappointed. The colors on the screen look awful. Could this be because the power adapter im using is 12v 300ma instead of 12v 700ma as per their recommendation? I havent gotten a VCD to play in the player either! I burned a VCD 2.0 using VCDeasy and the player doesnt recognize it. However, it will play MP3 cds. Anybody gottten this thing to work with VCDs?

Oh, and for anyone planning to use this for a CarPC, I suggest against it. I'm using the 6.4 in Clarion with pretty good specs and I could not imagine anything less. I looks great for movies and all, but when you want to try and read text (ie: open files), it's very hard, even with bold lettering and low rez.

Have you tried switching the adapter to 700ma and seeing what happens, I still think its a good deal, but if its not worth it I'm going to hafta pass.

I foudn another adapter thats 12v but it doesnt mention what ma rating it is. THe colors were just as bad on that one. But the only source i have used is my PS2, could that be the reason?
