kim should have gone.

my lord i was crying josh was gone... he was better this week... but him singing holding his daughter did it for me.

*sniffle*

next week i'll be hoping EVEN HARDER kim locke is off this show.

You're kidding. Josh is no where near as good as Kim is. I don't know Josh as a person (none of us do) but he really isn't American Idol material.

Yes Josh needed to go...he should have been gone last week.

But he did make me cry when he sang with his little girl at the end🙂

kim was just not great last nite though... plus watching this show i know she can't do fast songs to save her life, and i don't think she's marketable to the extent of a kelly clarkson, or what they may be able to do with clay or ruben. kim isn't american idol material.

not saying josh is better than kim, he was just better than her last nite.

weird though, most women i've met love kim. i personally can't stand her ever since the round of 32 and she was mouthing off to the judges. *shrug*
 
I wasn't a huge fan of Kim either. I just think she is way better than Josh. She generally picks songs that aren't right for her. I think that's disappointing because she would do very well if she picked better songs. As for being marketable...I see your point, but there are bigger girls out there that sing. Missy Elliot for one. (Even though she has now lost some weight.)
 
Plus, he has eyes that could make just about any girl mel (my wife's words).

Oh come on, we all know that it's you writing that... 😉

this is so slanted. kim is nowhere near the size of ruben, yet it's ok for ruben to be an american idol?

What I can't get past with Clay is that he reminds me of Martin Short doing his Broadway stick. It's gotten better though since he cooled it on the facial expressions. Man.. That red jacket and shoes looked so queer though. When Neil Sedaka was on last week, I thought those two were going to go back stage afterwards and get it on. 😉

I think Ruben is great! I'd definitely buy an album from him after this is over and I'm not a big fan of this kind of singing at all. I'm talking about pop singing on American Idol. I didn't even think that I would like the show, but I do for some odd reason.

Kimberly had a few hot weeks and she's good. I think Ruben and Clay should be in the final 2 though. It will probably come down to who has the better performance and song selection on the last night. I think it's that close.

LOL No, Mel. I've said that too. I think Kim looks great personally. I think she's really pretty. I think it's hypocritical for people to say that she's too big, but have no problems with Ruben. (Said that in another thread here.)

I don't think Kim is as good as Clay or Ruben though. I still think that if Martin Short and Fivel (from American Tale) had a baby....it would look like Clay. heehee That said, his voice is simply amazing. But.....I can't see him as an American Idol. I can see him performing in broadway or for "big band" type music. I don't know. I think the last person that said it may be right. It will be whomever has the best music selection and song performance the last night.

It's not hypocritical. It's reality. The double standard does exist in our society.

Besides, this competition is not just about singing. Image plays a big (no pun intended) role.

Well, the fact that it is "reality" does not negate the fact that it is wrong. Even with it being "reality," there is no need to perpetuate the double standard.
