Have to agree with Randy, LaToya sounds like she was made to sing Big Band. By leaps and bounds the best performance of the night. Sorry Jasmine, but you're toast after tonight's performance. You and Diana needed to come up big tonight, she delivered and you didn't. George and Fantasia will round out the bottom 3 this week.
 
Only saw the last 10 min. of it, while waiting for 24, but I heard Fantasia's first song and thought it was absolutely incredible. The 2nd one was ok. The reviews of the other performances didn't really catch my attention tho'.
 
I didn't hear Jasmine but from Randy and Simon's comments, she's gone tomorrow night. I'm inclined to say that Fantasia might have a chance at getting cut, (or at least in the bottom with Jasmine) but it's not looking good for my Hawaiian sweetheart :brokenheart:
 
I don't get it... Jasmine has a good voice. She's a good singer. It's very pleasant to listen to. Everyone says she's awful, but I just don't hear it.

I usually love Diana, but I thought she sounded off tonight. Yet again, it seems like I'm backwards from everyone elses opinion, though.

The people that think she's awful are all anti-asian. She is a good singer, just she's not maturing enough in the competition - she's shaky in some parts, a lil pitchy in others. Randy and Simon's comments were right on the money - she is good, but she's trying to bring her college hoops game to the NBA and it's just not working.

BTW, what was up with Seacrest's comment at the end "Remember, if you vote without watching the show, it's like stealing."

'course he says it ON the show first of all and secondly, what is he, the RIAA?

What's next? "If you Tivo American Idol, you're stealing money from the performers."
 
voting is a crock since anyone with enough time on their hands can vote for their favorite till their fingers turn blue. Crock.
 
if jasmine gets voted off, i'm not going to watch AI anymore. she was who i wanted to watch from the beginning and ill see her to the end. she is the only contestant i can imagine buying a cd.

diana i can see as 1st runner up. i dont like any other contestants
 
face it, jasmine is just NOT progressing. she started out spectacularly, and she can do some songs just absolutely beautifully. but she is NOT blowing people away. she has a beautiful voice, but it isn't getting better.

the same is going for george. he sounded good and i liked his performances, but when you compare them to latoya and fantasia, its not going to cut it.

diana and jasmine are just not mature enough for this competition. diana is not blowing people away with her performance either - to me it just seems so empty at the end.

my bottom three would be george, diana and jasmine, and i just see jasmine going. she sang well but not well enough. it's not going to cut it anymore.
 
I didnt catch the show at all last night, but I hope jasmine doesn't get cut!

I have been hoping it would be her since the first episode i saw her sing on. she is great and very cute.
 
I can't believe so many people like Fantasia. She's average. Her singing "Crazy little thing called love" damn near made me cry - it was horrible.
 
I think my wife and I are the only ones in the world who hates Fantasia's voice. It's way too nasal and hard to listen too. We have no idea why all the judges (including Simon who I usually 100% agree with) think she's the next coming....

I agree. I find her voice cartoonish and annoying. Very annoying.
 
Any one else thinks Diana looks like Miss Piggy? Everytime she sings i think....."hummm....if miss piggy was human.........."

I hope Simon busts out another "you look like _____________" comment.

I can't stand her voice; she yells more than Jennifer did. I usually agree with Simon too, but I think he's way off base with this one.

On an unrelated note, can anyone explain to me what "pitchy" is? In my 10+ years of music experience, I've never once heard that word used.

I've always thought she's very talented but the last 2 weeks I found her voice very nasal and cartoonish as well. Her voice is getting very annoying.

I agree ... I think Paula was BSing ... she was really crying because it sucked hardcore. 😛
