5.25" Harddrive fans

I just noticed at Bestbuy that they have a 5.25" harddrive cooler. It is basically 3 fans fixed to a 5.25" drive face. It has a mounting kit to mount a 3.5" harddrive to it so the air is blowing right across the harddrive. So...

Are these very effective/worth it ($9.95)?
Would it be a good idea to put the hd in it, or just have the fans there to blow across the CPU?

Thx,
Kevin

I saw that same setup at compusa.Theirs have antec fans, and for $10(with no shipping costs) I am going to give it a try on my sons pc.He has a small case that would be well suited for some front ventilation.

It's allright,..... but very limited cooling power.
Low cfms.

If you take off grill/filter, then twice as much airflow.

Well, I went ahead and bought it. I just plugged it into my open 5.25 bay, but I didn't put the HD in there as it isn't getting very hot.

My CPU and MB temp went down 3 degrees, so not bad for $10.

Thanks Fuzzmuncher, I will try taking the grill and filter off next time I turn the computer off.
