5.1

Hi again, sorry for all the speaker questions 🙂 , just looking to compare a package of bookshelves and subwoofer (namely these ) to a Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1. Im looking for decent music quality while concentrating more on speakers for gaming. I will be running an X-Fi and im not really sure about the differences between the two (i.e speaker package vs computer speakers).

Is there any specific differences between the two other than sound quality? (Which I guess the package would be better for).

Thanks!

Joe

I don't think there's a way to connect your X-Fi to that as I don't see a 5.1 analog input listed in the whitepaper.

I see 1 digital coax, 2 digital optical, and 1 2-channel analog.

If music is important, the Spherex will probably deliver a very unusual experience...70% of the sound is dispersed. The technology is great for surround sound, but will probably sound weird for 2-channel sources. Try it before you buy to verify.

Few people argue Klipsch. I went with Logitech Z-640 cuz it was less expensive, and it was a favorite of MaxPC for two full years (since replaced by the Z-5500).

If you are really serious about sound quality, you might also consider the M-Audio LX4 with expander.
