Same here (though your 5.1 is probably better than mine, i just have a creative masterworks THX 550 setup), gotta love the sennheiser cans for high fi listening though.

I use 2.0, yes that's right, straight stereo. My mains are flat at 90db down to 35hz, and 88db to 30hz. For music only :D

My HT is a 5.1, i don't even care abotu the measurements, because it's an Onkyo HTIB and sounds "good enough" for now.

I jsut decided that since my mains bottom out at ~35-45 hz, they needed extra help, so I run my maisn down to 45 and my sub below that.

I sounds scrumptious.

Rhapsody in Blue is FANTASTIC on this thing.

Sadly, I hate all the matrixed surround modes out there and have never had the pleasure if hearing HK's logic 7 in action..I hear it is delicious.
What speakers do you have?

Some Mirages.....

I have an Athena Sub I got for a bargain...doesn't live up to my mains but it still kicks ass..:D
If the mains start to roll off around 45hz you should consider placing the crossover at 55hz. It's quite likely you'll get a flatter frequency response this way.

I still can't figure out if I made the right decision in going back to 2.1 from a 5.1 setup...but I think I got it right. I think I'll be more sure after deciding a new pre/pro & amp combo plus a Benchmark DAC. oh the joys of audio :p

Mirages? Would they happen to be FRX-7's?

Unfortuantely that is not possible since my reciever can only do 80 100 and 120:(

That is why I recently switched from having my crossover at 80hz at just set my mains to full and adjusted the sub accordingly.

For the msot part I liek it better thsi way..the bass from my mains is so beautiful and rich sounding

I like my Sennheiser HD650. And maybe that's why I have severe hearing problems. Sometimes I turn on the stereo to give the B&W 602 S3 a work out. Don't have space for 5.1 setup.

5's. I wanted 7's since they had more drivers but mine are larger and in the end, a lot of people told me that it was the right choice.

yeah, they are on the lower end of the Mirage lineup, but they wipe to floor with a LOT of good stuff.....and they way a ton;) (MASSIVE magnets:D )

Honestly, as you hinted at, flatness is good, and these are some of the most neutral speakers, which I don't ahve to worry about anything.

<---never EVER uses an EQ.

Then that works. I'm not even sure my reciever has a place to change the crossover but since I don't use a sub, that doesn't really matter.

Nice speakers  :)

I've got a pair of the FRX-7's and the LF-150 sub to reinforce the low end. :p

You couldn't have said it better; they are better than a lot of higher priced speakers. I know that ever since I had these I have had no want or need to look into getting anything to replace them.

Basically the same goes for me. They are marvelous when playing anythign from Mahler to watching Bad Boys 2 at full volume.:D

Oh, and yes, rhapsody in blue makes me feel funny inside:D

As for the LF-150, that little sucker is deep man. I was really impressed with it in the showroom. In the end, I went with the Athena psb400 for the price and it's speed. That thing can keep up with anything...it might not go as low as others, but that is not why I bought it (27hz +-3dB) basically 30hz

Goosemaster, mind if I ask what you're using for a Receiver and surrounds?

I've heard good about Atena subs. But you haven't heard anything until you've stacked a LF-100 & LF-150 :p

Reciever is an onkyo tx-sr600. I got it because of its great stereo output. damn can put out an ACTUAL 90/watt channel in stereo and do everything from DTS-ES to Prologic II.
Btw, in stereo it is actually rated at 80/channel ...+10FTW:D

My Sub is an athena asp400 [sic] 10'' in 100watt (400watt peak) and it kicks ass. I have some tried some 28-30~hz signals at almost full volume and they shake the house...after that it bottoms out:( If I but it on 10-20% volume it goes a LOT lower:evil:

My rears and center are garbage. Technics speakers (urgh) but since my sub and fronts pick up so much of the slack and all of the bass, the whole setup sounds surprisingly good. DVD-aduio is really sweet.

As for my input, I use an audigy2zs ...I practically got it for free so why not:D) hooked up via 5.1 channel analog-out to my recievers 5.1 analog inputs.

Needless to say, everything from gamignto movies is AWESOME. :D

A few people on here have the same soundcard setup but with better speakers too:D

Earmuffs FTW. What's sick is I use mine when I snowblow. I'm pretty sure I'll regret it someday seeing as they get rather wet.
