5.1 Audio Problems

Chaintech VNF3-250, Logitech Z-640s, Windows XP sp-1

Does anybody have any idea why I cannot get the sound out of my surround speakers to work? Everything is new, and I can get the center speaker and two front speakers to work. I really have no idea what is failing. If anybody has any suggestions, or if you need to no more information, please let me know. Drivers are updated.

Did you set your windows settings to 5.1?

in the nforce audio utility (nvmixer) go to "speaker wizard" and follow the instructions.

Im having the same sort of problems. Ive set everything I can to 5.1 sound and abused the Nvidia Audio Utility and to no avail. I get sound played through 4.1 in WMP, winamp and in games although when using a 5.1 plugin for Winamp, I have no troubles receiving 5.1 sound.

No idea whats going wrong.

i'm using soundstorm on nforce2 board. I get 5.1 in doom and itunes and 4.1 in wmp but every valve game it fails to give me 5.1 (even half-life 2). I looked around google but no luck.
