4xxx Radeon to 6850 and WORSE performance..HELP!

What else should I try to do? Put in my old video card and try it again? Try new video card with old power supply (an Antec 400W)? Try older drivers?

Try older drivers first then try your old card. If older drivers don't work and your old card works fine, I would RMA. You tried just about everthing. Hows the temps of the card?

Before you uninstall the drivers,go to the overdrive page in ccc and hit the defaults button. That will clear out the overclocking profiles from your last card then uninstall and reinstall

Another thought: The two games you mentioned testing are both online games. Any chance it's not a graphics problem at all, but a latency problem connecting to an online server? Try testing with a game that doesn't require internet access. I know I've experienced lousy frame rates connecting to certain TF2 servers in the past.

If 3d mark 11 is working fine (and it seems to be), it must be a driver issue with those peticular games.

I did some research and it seems that driver 10.10e hotfix is the best driver for TF2 and the 6800 series.
I'm sorry to seem like a pain in the ass but mabe you should try that one.

Your dips are coming from V-Sync OP, you don't buy a card capable of 80 to 100 FPS then limit it to 30fps 😛.

Some games are smart and limit the frames to your monitors refresh rate, your game on the other hand dose not and leaves you at 30fps with obvious dips.

Just tried single player SC2. With my resolution, and setting everything to default for video, i was getting 40ish fps and when moving around the map, it was choppy

Thats a very cpu bound game (quad core), that seems about right for that game.

Edit: try the same game with the lowest settings, check fps, and then with high settings. If there is not much difference you are cpu bound.

Have you made sure you don't have Supersampling on in the CCC under AA mode? When I made the move from my 4870 to my 6850 and the new CCC, I used my old settings, then realized that using the slider to the right in AA mode turned on Supersampling. SS is a FPS killer.

Usually I play with v-sync off, it is just recommended to be on for DCUO.

I just installed my old card again and going to see how that goes.

Yes, my framerate without v-sync off was higher obviously, but the game was still hitching/hiccuping when it didnt used to (as seen in SC2 and DUO now).

I never messed with any CCC settings before, but I will check it now after reinstalling these drivers

You need to try one thing at a time, Swapping cards, changing drivers, checking the settings etc all at once makes it hard to figure out what the issue is.
