4x1gb Ocz El Platinums DDR Not Working On Dfi Expert

Hey all, i just bought 2x1gb of OCZ El platinums to add to a pair i already have for a total of 4x1gb. Both sets of ram have the same part #OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K, they're all OCZ El platinums, but when i install em the bios & Vista64 only recognize 2gb. I tested each set so i know they're working individually, but 4x1gb and its a no go. I enabled memory hole & 2t command rate in the bios, no go. I've increased vdimm all the way up to 2.9v from 2.7, no go. i loosened all the timings to 3-4-4-11, no go. Reset cmos, no go. I'm @ wits end! im not overclocking at all, i just want them to run stock. strange thing is CPU-Z detects 4gb, but bios & vista64 dont. anyone have any ideas? rig details are in sig. thanks in advance.

I am not going to be any help but I have the same problem. I will give a bump and at least empathize that you are not alone.

I have Intel E8500, Gigabyte EP45-UD3P, 2x2GB OCZ Sli DDR2 800, 4870 1GB, 500gb Seagate 7200.11 32MB Buffer, OCZ ModXStream 600W, Lian Li V1010B

Someone has to be way smarter than us who can figure this out. =)

Update and a bump for Poohbear.

For what it is worth I have fixed my issue; however, my situation is a bit different. For me CPU Z only saw 2gb as well. I took apart my machine and verified that both DIMMs worked properly which they did. I then reseated each one in the proper dual channel slots and rebooted and whammy...4gb in Bios and Vista 64.

So my issue turned out to be a seating issue but since you say CPU Z sees 4gb I would say check your BIOS to see if yours allows you to remap your memory as I have read that helps in many instances.

thanks kyle, yea i remapped the memory in the bios, still no difference.

ocz tech ppl are saying my mobo Vista64 wont recognize 4gb but its still "there". i really doubt that though since i have'nt noticed a diff in performance in games (coh opposing fronts being the main culprit).

My system is much older than yours mind u. Guess its time to finally upgrade. seems w/ the older mobos 4gb support doesnt actually mean 4 gb support. they must've ment 4gb support "sometimes". hopefully if i buy a new mobo that says 8gb support it will actually support 8gb in the future.
