Slides are pretty cool, its neat to see how they work to solve issues and provide well optimized games that look amazing.

Talks about how they utilize the new GCN hardware features in PS4 Pro like the buffer id.

They also have another talk here:

FrameGraph: Extensible Rendering Architecture in Frostbite

http://www.frostbite.com/2017/03/framegraph-extensible-rendering-architecture-in-frostbite/

Which goes over evolution of the Frostbite engine and how they've changed how they render frames.

Checkerboard rendering is indeed a very cool idea with the PS4 Pro's GPU hardware features ...

Unfortunately it sounds like it's patented by Sony but it would be great if they could allow AMD to sell this hardware implementation with Microsoft so that one day it will be a standardized D3D12 extension ...

Half rate shading is awesome and Intel has been doing similar research around multi-rate shading in the past ...

Few month old post, but I guess I missed it.

That patent is actually for the (very cool) method sony uses for higher resolution rendering with their PS2 emulator on PS4, not checkerboard rendering.
