Question 4gb stick of ddr2?

i have seen 4gb sticks of ddr2 ram, says they are unbuffered and desktop, not server ram. anyone have any experience with trying them?

I had some 4 GB sticks of DDR2 in my mining rigs. They worked without a hitch in some AM2/AM2+ systems I used for mining.

do you remember the brand? i am thinking of them for some older am2+ systems actually

Mine were generics that I bought off eBay. No heatspreaders, etc. If I still had them I'd give you product #s off the DIMMs and do research, but I gave mine away some time ago.

the cheap, high density only works on amd chipsets motherboards
the rare, low density 4gb modules work on both intel and amd
a couple of years ago when i was looking for 4gbx4=16gb ddr2 the high density were as low as 20$ for 16gb whereas the low density were 50-60$ per 4gb module.
I was on an intel platform so i payed 200$ for 16gb. 2 of these
prices may be lower now though

i got two cheap sticks off ebay, i think $14 each, breathed new life into an AMD x2 250 system with two slots.
