now there's no reason why anyone should be running less than 4gb 😀

BIOS + 32bit limitation? Still 4GB will still show up as 3GB+ typically.

bleh, I could care less what windows tells me.
I know I have 4gb and that's all that matters 😛

I'm gonna see if I can swap these out and get a better overclock on my 3600+ rig.

currently running 2 x patriots and 2 x supertalents and running it at 2.7x ghz

so the serial numbers are the S/C Number ?
make photo copy of the box or ramsticks ?
also are you guys sending the packing slip as invoice/receipt ?

thanks

Jeebus, this is one kick-ass hot deal! Just ordered 4 sticks for $211 (charged me sales tax in TX -- who cares) - $160 rebate = $51 for 4gb of DDR2 ram. I don't even need it, but hell... I think I'll use it to build a new rig at this price. Thanks OP! 🙂

Just to update: I got this rebate back about 4 weeks after it was sent. And I did not photo copy the serial numbers and send those in like some said they did. I did however send it return receipt requested. Oddly, I never got the receipt, though.

GREAT DEAL! =)

Alright, today is the last day for the rebates and can someone tell me why I ordered 5 sticks?! I don't even have a mobo or a cpu for these sticks!!! God, I love you guys!

save it for a next build.

I'm saving 4 sticks for my next htpc build.

Was going to purchase some, but noticed that on the rebate form (on the very bottom) that the date is thru October 31, 2007. Are they still accepting this rebate form???

Anybody save a blank copy of the Oct. rebate form?
Or is there a url that I'm missing?
Hep me...😀😀😀

These 4 boxes are just sitting here waiting to mail in the UPC.
TIA

I ordered 4 of the 1GB DDR2-800 sticks at the end of July. I emailed HP Rebate Center to ask them what to do about the Serial Number, which as you know the form asked for but was not printed on the outside of the packages. They replied (quickly, they were very prompt) saying that it was a typo, and not needed for RAM. I submitted the rebate a week later, and it was rejected - for not having serial numbers. Sigh. I called and explained, they said 'Sorry, just re-submit'. I re-photocopied everything, including printout of the email & response regarding the serial number question. In September I got another rejection - "Unfortunately however, we are unable to fulfill your request as submitted for the HP Q3 Bluethhoth(sic) PC Card Mouse Promotion, Offer #1023 mail-in rebate". Huh? I called again, explained, and was given the option of either emailing or faxing the paperwork. I emailed with scans of the 10 pages of documentation. Two weeks later I received the $160 rebate. I just want to say that in all my correspondence with HP Rebate Center (I also bought two HP 20" LCDs earlier this summer and got $100 rebate for those) they were very courteous and helpful, even though the whole process took close to 3 months.

I just wrote down the serial numbers on the form off the memory sticks. There was a space for that on the form I submitted. But there may have been more than one form out there without the spaces on it for that info.

Is that you Navin?

I guess most people are providing the serial number so I they are expecting it even though it's not required. Even though you had several rebate problems it sounds like you got a good response from the rebate handlers. You can't say that for most of them.
