Got my first rebate today. $80
I picked up 2 more sticks the day before the last rebate expired. So I should get another $80 in about a month or two.
Thanks OP

On Slickdeals.net someone spoke with HP about the serial numbers and was told writing the serial numbers on the rebate form was not required to receive the rebate.

Anyone else hear this?

Cool... sounds like YMMV for time to receive the rebate check.

Earlier in the thread there was mention that the rebate processing center was in the middle of changing location and that this would have an effect on processing time...

it takes a full 5-6 weeks (the rebate form states 6-8 weeks). Worry if you don't get it after 8 weeks.

The after rebate price on techonweb has fluctuated between 19.99 and 23.00 for me in the last 24 hours. Has anyone else seen the same, or is this some user-specific, Amazon-style price algorithm going on?

Yes :( I hope it goes back to $15-16 AMIR. $15 to $20 is a 33% increase! I promise I will buy this memory and build a new system if it drops to $15. Hurry up prices, drop.

I too am waiting for it to drop back to $15-$16 AMIR before I take the plunge. It's a battle of the wills between me and the store but by golly I know the store will drop the price and then I will buy it and I will have won.

In my case, I am using this as an excuse to further delay (or resist the urge to pull) an inevitable upgrade. for the awesome sig btw :D

That's good to hear. I've been checking the online status and it hasn't shown up.

Where are you guys getting the serial number for the rebate from, off the stick of RAM itself?

Yes, the serial number begins with "S/C:" and the number will look like "38076401XYZ". I used these numbers on my first pair and just received my rebate check today (mailed 7/2).

Only about 10 more days till rebate expiration. These are decent RAMs (usually Crucial single-sided) and will hit 400MHz with 2.0V and 5-5-5-15-2T. The best part is that RAM runs @ 1.8V and will boot with many DDR2 boards. It's a much better value than those over-hyped 2.0-2.1 OCZ sticks with stick-on heat spreader.

Nope, the rebate has been changed to the end of October, so we have 40 days to wait to see if it will drop to $15. Hopefully there will also be a great deal on a graphic card, and a drop in the price of CPUs.
