Pretty sure there's no such thing as a 4GB card in plain microSD. If it's 4gb or higher it's got to be *SDHC.

Yes, that's correct. That's what the HC stands for "High Capacity" - i.e. 4GB.

How old is your R4? Mine are all only a few months old. Does it have a spring loaded MicroSD slot, or does the card just slide in? The spring loaded ones are the older ones. They changed it because they have breakage isues.

Also, Which Firmware version are you running? I wonder if thats all you need to do since some people have it working and some don't. I have an M3 not the R4 but I'm running the newest version of the R4 firmware which works fine on the M3, not sure what the differences are with the M3 and R4 but maybe i'll buy one of these and see if it works

EDIT: After more research it seems that the M3 DS Simply and R4 rev 1 don't support SDHC, some users report certain SDHC cards working however only Japanese Kingston cards. Otherwise it seems they're unstable.

The R4 rev 2 as explained above, with the new shell without a spring does support it. Also the new M3 DS Real and TTDS support SDHC. FYI for all

When I first got mine, 2GB was enough for games. Now that I watch videos and pics, and use it as an MP3 player, 4GB lets you do alot more without switching cards!

last time i tried video on my R4DS, it sucked balls. has the encoding/playback quality increased?

I tried to get the 4 gig the last time with the google check out. Used a new address but they sent me an email saying the account has been blocked because I have another account. Not sure if it was the CC # or the name. But they caught me. It was like my 5th account.

Yea, I imagine they are cracking down a bit. I know it worked at least 4 times with the same card as I only have one I use on line. (I like to keep it on one so if there are issues I only have one to cancel) I may start using some of the prepaid ones you get at CVS.
 
I recieved mine today. I even used the slowest shipping (7-9 days) and it still got here in 4.
It seems a little faster on the initial loadup than my PNY card, but nothing too exciting. Works like a champ so far!

EDIT : Well at least this works in my aiptek HD camcorder....:beer:
 
Mine either, and it's not even showing up in my orders. I got a confirmation email from Google checkout with an order number but no such order in my buy.com account. Sent them an email asking for explanation.

GCO orders don't show up in your Buy account. You can do a traditional status check on Google's site or you have to do a specific lookup on Buy.com with the order # and your phone number.

Are those things any good? I was looking into getting one to take some easily editable video of my daughter instead of my MiniDV. I don't need awesome quality, just better than my digital camera takes. 🙂
Would you recommend it?
 
I find it interesting that the item page says it's available to purchase, without so much as a backorder tag, while my status page still says "on order."
