49ers pick up option to keep Alex Smith through 2010

Yeah, Hill's done a lot better job with the same supporting cast, which make Smith's case all that much more lame. He's probably got one more shot at the job before being cut. The niners line isnt that great but the running backs are pretty good. The receivers are average at best, VD is great when used properly, battle is good as a possession guy, lelie can stretch the defense. Jackson is overrated, Gilmore and Hill are decent 3rd stringers, though not spectacular.

What a disaster. Niner fan here. Alex Smith has shown me nothing. Shaun Hill has a decent game and most fans are going crazy, the first decent quarterback they've seen in years.
Aaron Rodgers got in a game late in the year, replacing Brett Favre, and did very well.
I remember an opposing defensive player saying he was good, that his passes were very crisp, as opposed to Favre's passes that just floated and were up for grabs.

Nothing will change until we get rid of Nolan. Make Mad Mike Martz the head coach, and make Singletary the defensive coordinator. Oh, and the York's, please sell the team to someone who cares about football.

whoever's the HC, just give the team back to Eddie. He may be a crook, but he cared lots for the franchise and was a winner.
