Ripped from gotapex...

"This one is sure to run out quickly. It`s sold under a few different Harman Audio nameplates (in clear casing under the Harman Kardon nameplate for MSRP: $349, under Madrigal nameplate for $399 MSRP). Anyhow, this is a really great deal for your favorite budding home theater junkie."

It was oos at the geeks, now eCost have them for $49.99
9 bucks for fedex overnite shipping

I was hoping since it was from M$ that it could be used as a remote mouse on a HTPC... but no dice... Nice deal though.

I had one, and sent it back. Some of the new technology is not good for old eyes. Too hard for me to read the display. Probably great for those under 40! (But this price is fantastic)

Is this thing supposed to take two or three pushes on the LCD button? Either the LCD touchscreen is defective or my fingers just can't hit the buttons right because I'm having trouble just getting through the setup. It seems like I have to press lightly sometimes, and hard other times. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed. I definitely don't want to have to look down fiddle with the buttons, if that's what it takes. If anyone wants to buy this, I'll sell it for what I paid - $55.50. Otherwise, I think I'm going to RMA it.

Got mine but haven't opened the box yet. Very quick shipping. I'd give those buttons some time. My guess is you'll get used to the fine nuances. Think of all the fun you'll have when someone else tries to use it and you grab it from their hand, turning off all the lights and starting a movie. They'll think you're a genius.

get 2 (or 4 if you can stand the balzing brightness) tadiran batteries

Here's the info you need to order the batteries from Allied Electronics:

Mfr.'s Part #: TL-2100/SBP
Allied Stock #: 590-0190
Manufacturer: TADIRAN BATTERIES
Description: 3.6 LITHIUM BATTERY, AA, PRESSURE CONTACT

http://www.alliedelec.com/

2 of them will make your screen 3 times brighter and last like 6 months at least.... 4 will make it waaaay brighter from what i hear....... and last a year......

It appears that I had to spend more time with it. The key was to use a blunt pointed object on the calibration points. After doing this, there doesn't appear to be a problem. I must have been missing the calibration marks with my finger, enough to throw off the whole thing. I'm having some fun programming it but realistically I'll still use my Dish Network PVR 501 remote to control my satellite receiver functions. The 501's remote is an IR/RF unit and I can do all functions no matter how far I am from the receiver or how the remote is oriented. Plus, the tactile buttons for PVR functions is key, and I can't imagine having to look down at a remote to do basic functions like pause, ff, rev, etc. Anyway, it looks like everything is OK with the remote and it should provide some entertainment and function at the same time.

I wanted one for X-Mas but eCost jacked up the price again!

Now it is $89.99, but they have more in stock.

Hate them.
