This is not specific data about a single card that is why i did not post this to the stickes!!!

This is a combo of nvidia and ati cards specs for noobs mainly...

There were a questions as to which is better GTX 280 or 4870 thus this chart can help with that!!



The stickies are about the series of the cards so this belongs there.

Feel free to repost it in either of the sticky threads. You can even post it in both if you like.

We don't need a new thread every time someone finds a new piece of information or wants to discuss something at a slightly different angle.

What's the point of the winner category? 'cause from what I can tell it is wrong.
4870X2 is competing with GTX 280 and 9800GX2
4870 is competing with GTX 260 and 9800GTX
4850 is competing with... WTF 240? and 9800GT

Ya i know that 4870 x2 will go for the GTX 280 but that will be out what 3-4 months after GTX 280 so i did not include 4870 X2 for now!!!

AMD will follow up in July and launch the Radeon 4870 512 MB GDDR5 and the 4870 X2 1024 MB GDDR5 (R700). The Radeon 4870 chip is built onto a board codenamed ?Trojan? thats entirely an idiotic table.

i mean, a ROP or a shader processor can mean completely different things depending on how its designed. not to mention 256bit bus with gddr5 is different than 512bit with gddr3

would you rather have a quad pentium pro or a core 2 duo. one has 4 CPUs!.

Well, I guess that settles that! Well, except the chart doesn't have price, clock speeds, driver release quality and timliness, some people even would like to know about heat and power useage. I'm looking forward to some real benches, June can't come quick enough.
