Um, that isn't a CD burner. It's a 48x CD-ROM drive.

Black LITE-ON LTN-486 48X CD-ROM Drive, OEM.

Not a burner my friend, just a CD-ROM. Not that hot of a deal. If it were $20 for a 48x burner I would pick up a couple :)

I'd bet you could find LOTS of people willing to sell you the 48x CD-rom drives from the
Dell 8250s that they just purchased for even less that $19.99.

34 isn't bad for a good quality lite-on burner w/o rebate... but I like to get my 48x's for 9 w/ rebate :)

the latest firmware upgrade Mt. Nobrainer can flash the LiteOn 48X CDROM into a 48X CDRW. Enjoy! :D

Damn! I think this firmware will flash my CDROM into DVD-RW. Well.. have to wait for next release...

I actually jumped on this before... and ordered without looking.... and was..... well lets just say.... a tad more than dissapointed.

how bout buying this and then switch the faceplate with a FAR beige Lite-On CDRW? both look quite similar... except for the headphone jack and volume control :p
