4890 softmod

There is a 4890 softmod around.
I seen a few people using a Riva Tuner + modified cfg file.
Tried it on a MSI 4890 cant get it to work. Why
Ran 3dmark 06 twice scores around low 18000.
Scores the same as my 8800gt sli.

Can you be a little more vague?

What's this supposed softmod supposed to do? What does it enable/disable/change? What is the supposed net result?

I don't know how you expect the 4890 to outperform the 8800GT SLI setup by very much in 3Dmark; that setup will actually beat out a 280GTX AFAIK, plus you're probably CPU limited to some extent as well.

Don't know why it's not working but if you haven't seen this:
http://vr-zone.com/articles/increas...-hd-4890-using-rivatuner/6880-1.html?doc=6880

It is a detailed walkthrough on how to set it up, a link to the config file you need so the latest version of RivaTuner works with a 4890, and instructions on how to install the voltage tweaker plugin. Maybe this can help identify a step that you missed.

I'm guessing your wanting to play with the voltages. Right?
If you just want to OC without messing with voltage, use CCC. It actually works pretty well.
