hi i just ran 36mark06 after successfully building my first computer XD

i am wondering about the result, particularly the shader model 3.0 score

13110 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 5629
SM 3.0 Score 6805
CPU Score 2779

the website compares this to a "fastest system" which has sm 3.0 score of 350748

i'm using duo3ghz 4x1066ddr2 and hd4870

Don't worry about 3Dmark. The 4850 doesn't seem to do as well in that but in real life games it works well. That's all that really matters.
 
Your SM 3.0 score is just slightly lower than mine when I ran my HD4870 at stock clocks (around 7050 or so). Speed up the fan on the card and overclock it for some good gains. Overclocks easily to the max in CCC and stays fairly cool depending on the fan speed %.

is it right that i've had to decrease the speed of my ddr2 (from 1066 to 960 or something) when ocing the cpu?
