4850/4870 and Vsync not working?

Can someone with one of those cards see if Vsync is working in older games, like BF2, BF2142 etc. Their's a thread over at hardforums with people saying Vsync doesn't work on older games with the new 4 series from ATI...

Vsync appears to work fine on my 4850 in BF2142, BF2 I can't verify.

im getting alot of screen tearing in witcher, havent noticed it in any others but it might have been there. Happens alot in cgi's and game play i have. Wait for vertical refresh always on.

There are are some games that you can't turn on vsync with editing the .cfg file such as Quake3:Arena. You have to change 'Swap Interval=1".
