4830 or 4850? Need help!

My EVGA 7600GT just died with 5 capacitors popped. So I am planning to buy a new card.

Which one is better 4830 or 4850? Does the performance worth the price gap? (about $30)

I'm using a 19'' widescreen, maybe I'll upgrade in the future, but that won't be soon.

Also, which brand has better warranty/customer support? I searched online and found out there are heat issues with both chips, so I am very concerned about the services.

I'm considering XFX, Sapphire, MSI, or Gigabyte. Any opinion is appreciated. Thanks guys.

No, it doesn't have as many shaders physically in the core.

And I would say just get whatever's cheap.

FOr such low resolution you should just go with 4830. 4850 isn't that much faster. maybe 10%.

stick with 4830. Mine runs great on a 22 inch monitor without AA on all games except Crysis. And it overclocks around 20% if you get one of the dual slot cooler ones. (HIS, Sapphire, Powercolour)

4830 for same cost at 9800gt + COD4? I'd get the 9800

unfortunately, my 7600gt is not in warranty anymore and it has no lifetime warranty from EVGA....they don't accept RMA for my product

On a 19"? HD4830 would be more than enough. I'd say if you really don't need that extra power and wanna save some green, just go with the HD4830.

The 4830 and 4850 both offer about equal bang for the buck, so it just depends on how much "bang" you need. I just bought a 4830, it has enough power for me, and I will overclock it. I hate "AA" (too blurry) so I can get by with a lower powered video card.
