The Boxster doesn't have the "body" to pull of that color. How do I put this...

The Boxster in that color is like underaged jailbait. The GT40 in that color is a smoking' 30 year old brunette with a LOT of experience

The paint job is in reference to the Gulf paintjob that Porsches had in LeMans... like this 917... the GT40 wasn't the only one that had it... even your beloved McLaren F1 and the all-conquering Audi R8.

EDIT: You may not like it but that paintjob is pretty damn legendary in its own right in the UK... most often associated with LeMans winning cars.

Actually, it looks to me more like the older Tony Lapine paint schemes for Porsche's LeMans racers. Most Americans are probably less familiar with those colors than with the Martini & Rossi colors though.
