OP makes an interesting point about the choice of noun which killed people. For example,
  • 48 people murdered by homicidal maniacs today in Iraq
  • 48 people murdered in sectarian violence today in Iraq
  • 48 people murdered by terrorist assholes today in Iraq
  • 48 people murdered by insurgents today in Iraq
  • 48 people murdered by suicidal automobiles today in Iraq

well, at least we gave them freedom that they asked for

We did actually. And now they're free to experience exactly the culture they are breeding. Maybe when they get tired of it, they'll decide to make changes in the way they think, and teach and raise their kids and deal with each other.

No one ever said societal development was easy. At least they get the chance now though, rather than being fed to lions...

How many people do you think would have been murdered by car bombs if the insurgents could easily pick them up at the Iraqi Walmart?

Which I'm certain comes from a list on this page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

Oddly enough the following countries are left off the list he posted....

Egypt-----------1.2
Tunisia----------1.1
Japan-----------0.2
South Korea-----2.6
Switzerland------0.7
Australia--------1.0
Israel-----------2.1
Sweden---------1.0

France-----------1.1
Netherlands------1.1
New Zealand-----0.9
Spain------------0.8
United Kingdom---1.2
Turkey-----------3.3
Germany---------0.8
Canada----------1.6
Norway----------0.6
Iceland----------0.3
Hungary---------1.3
Denmark---------0.9

Kind of amusing... if not for the deception by omission of certain data.

 I posted that list because of the deception of other people who only list a few countries with lower homicide rates, and completely ignore the 107 countries that have higher homicide rates. I have never said we have the lowest, but others have said we have the highest. I have said we are 108th.

So it's you and your ilk who are not being honest. My response was a correction of those who only list countries with a lower rate. I have, at least once, posted where I got my info.

Actually the US bungled the postwar democratic formation by foiling local elections in favour of appointments of unpopular Saddam era officials and soldiers. Then the US destroyed whatever credibility it had left by the failed reconstruction where most of the money (incl Iraqi treasury funds) was funneled back to politically connected big US corporations leaving the Iraqi's to wallow in a free marketer's wet dream.

I can see a correlation because the Iraqi's were pissed we didn't spend enough money "Nation building" there and hopefully will choose to spend the cash in this Country.

False man. One thing that is common about virtually all the countries that have lower rates than the U.S. is that they are mostly first world wealthy nations.

the second group of countries that I listed in my post are NATO member nations. They have a common attitude in at least one thing.

Many of the nations with higher rates that you aren't first world countries.

Additionally it would not be a surprise if it turned out that many of the countries with lower murder rates have a much better record overall with mental health than the U.S.

As for the other numbers you didn't mention that the U.S. was 108th in that post that I was referring too. Just posting that list without listing any of the countries that are lower (and thus providing necessary context) wasn't anything else than deception by omission.

Too bad you can't see it.

Chances are high the requirements for a background check would keep the bomb purchasing where they are right now. On the black market or home made.

Well, to be fair, the numbers that make the US so low come from our US version of 3rd world shithole countries. It's not like in say, Chicagoland area, all the shootings are happening in Northbrook. They're happening in the really depressed areas, aka shithole.
