If you need that many batteries go the rechargable route that's what I did and I'm very happy with my decision.

Yep. If you junk batteries that much, rechargles are the way.

Ditto. Using them in my wireless mouse and keyboard right now. I never leave Roswell without my pack of 48 for those long flights 🙂
 
Rayovac alkalines are better than Duracell which are the worst in terms of bang for the buck, or Energizer, and you can get 30 AA or 30 AAA for $10 at Lowes Hardware.
