Am I screwed? I have to study about 7 sections of precal material for my next test, I haven't been keeping up with the homework either. Dammit.

update:

Ok, I suck. I have ~3 hours before the exam and I didn't finish studying even 10% of the material. I don't think I'm gonna go to class. Oh man, why didn't I study I had plenty of time. Why did i do this, I can't believe I wasted all of my time on the computer. I swear this computer is evil, it sucked up all of my time like a vacuum.

I have 2 more tests left out of 4 and a final that counts for 40% of my total grade, with hope of him dropping 1 of the tests, btw, I bombed the 1st test with a 39%.

Why do I suck at math, why? Why can't i get myself to study for this subject.

If I drop this class and get a withdrawal for a grade I'll be a part-time student and that?s gong to screw up my financial aid status, right?

I wouldn't necessarily say you are screwed. If you put in the effort for the next 48 hours you may be able to do well.

I crammed for 80 hours over a few day period last semester and ended up with an A on the exam in the course. The class average was a B-.

I feel for you. I have 25 hours until the test in stats and prob for engineering. I guess I should be studying and not posting....:)

No way, its impossible to cheat on Precal, esspecially if the two of you aren't in on it together.

Precalc?

Pffft. I went into that final not knowing a damn thing. I received sub-F grades on every test, and rarely did homework. I barely knew what to write on the final exam papers...

I got a C in the class. Yes, that's how large the curve was, and shows how little my classmates knew in regards to the material (like me ;)).

But if I had it to do over again...I'd definitely do the homework, study my ass off, etc. as 1) The mental strain of possibly failing is extremely heavy, and 2) when the next class rolled around...Ouch.

I feel like I can't get myself to study for this subject, its just so dry. If this were bio or psych I would have no prob. I should stop making excuses.

Anyone have anytips on how to study for this subject?

No friggin way, did you go to a community college or something. How could the curve be that huge.

I did fairly well on the weekly quizzes we had, and few people in my class (~300 students) knew what was going on. The teacher also couldn't teach his way out of a paper bag, and even if he could, his thick accent prevented anyone from understanding what he was trying to convey.

And no, this was University of Illinois at Chicago, MATH 121 Precalc.

I crammed a whole semester of Calculus into one weekend so it's doable. I wouldn't want to try to do it again though. :p

You're hosed. Without pre-calc you're pretty much washed up academically. Better start filling out applications at hair salons, Krispy Kreem, or I guess you could become a business major.

I don't even remember what's covered in pre-calc. That's like limits and the definition of a derivative and stuff right? You're not doing Taylor series or anything?

Just thumbed through some precalc pages on the net, and yes, I do believe this will be easy with the amount of time you have. You know how to find slopes and whatnot, right? Most of this precalc material is basically advanced trig and geometry, but you've already done those classes.

I didn't cheat when I took pre-calc, but the material is so easy I don't see why you couldn't easily cheat on an exam in the class

Definitely possible. I learned a semester's worth of statistics in 8 hours and got the highest grade in the class on the final.

If you're naturally adept and at least paid attention in class, you wouldn't need to.
